well by passion I mean that hedonic lust you get creating art, or writing a good essay, or some zestful production.

i.e. getting into "flow" can only push you forward so far.

a greater motivation, I think is purpose.

if you feel what you are doing is going to help others or help the world, than baby, that can keep you going.

or if you feel that your ability to feed your children depends on you performing well at work, then by god you will work your tail off.

I think a key to getting the most production out of yourself is to find the best positive motivators, and keep on tapping that keg.
