sure I've done many paintings and did web design heavily, but here's why I don't have potential as a pure artist some day.

When I see things of beauty or whatever, I don't get the swelling of emotions that other artsy people feel.

like certain people, when they hear a guitar riff, their whole body starts writhing.

Or when people watch a film, they cry

Or at an art festival, people are swept up in it, the music intoxicates their sense of where they are and the meaning of things.

I have art skills and I consume art good... but my love of art is more in artful simplistic ideas.

it's is more the artistic bent of an engineer, for whom art is more of a kung-fu efficiency type of deal, not a smell the roses kind of thang.
